Where the existing bedding has deteriorated, become loose or is no longer adequately supporting the ridge caps, we recommend removing the affected ridge capping and failed bedding before correctly re-bedding and pointing the ridge system.

- Replacement of damaged roof tiles where required
- Installation of new bedding mortar
- Correct alignment and resetting of ridge caps
- Application of flexible ridge pointing
- Final inspection of completed works

Our approach
Inspection
The ridge and hip lines are assessed along their full length, together with the surrounding tiles, so the condition of the complete ridge system is understood before anything is quoted.
Identify the cause
Whether the caps have simply weathered, or the bedding beneath them has broken down and is no longer holding the ridge system in place.
Explain the repair
You are shown what was found and given a clear recommendation — the extent of ridge capping that needs removal and re-bedding, and what can reasonably be left.
Complete the work
Failed bedding and affected caps are removed, damaged tiles replaced, new bedding mortar laid, caps reset and aligned, then finished with flexible ridge pointing.
Final inspection
The completed ridge system is inspected by the owner and the workmanship is covered by a five-year warranty.
Why We Don't Simply Repoint Failed Ridge Capping
Applying new pointing over a ridge system with deteriorated or unstable bedding may improve its appearance, but it does not rectify the failed bedding underneath.
Our approach is to assess the condition of the complete ridge system and recommend the appropriate repair based on what is actually causing the failure.
